Weekly Insider Tips - June 2, 2025

In this week’s insider tips, I shared an update on the market’s sideways movement, which I call a “yellow” market—where things aren’t really breaking out or down. I reviewed major indices, key stocks, and market trends, and offered some technical analysis on specific names like Tesla, Palantir, and Google. While the market feels stuck, there are still pockets of opportunity, especially in Bitcoin and scarce assets. I also warned against investing in Treasuries and highlighted how covered calls can generate steady income even in these choppy times. Let’s dive deeper!

Technical Analysis & Market Trends

The current market environment is “yellow,” meaning we’re seeing mixed signals—two days red, two days green, leaving us directionless. The Nasdaq is hanging just above its 200-day moving average, stalling out after a recent run. The S&P 500 is consolidating after bouncing off the 200-day, while the Dow is stuck below its 200-day and in a negative death cross, looking weaker overall. Meanwhile, the NYSE Composite stands out as the strongest index, solidly above the 200-day.

Volatility has calmed down, with the VIX at its 200-day moving average, which suggests some order in the markets—no major panic, but also no clear breakout momentum. The market feels paused, waiting for a catalyst or for some of the sellers to move out of the way.

Treasuries & The Macro Picture

I emphasized that Treasuries—once seen as the safest investments—are no longer a good bet. Long-term holders have seen major losses of 50% or more because of rising interest rates and a loss of confidence in U.S. debt. Instead, I recommended covered calls, which can easily produce 4% yields in just a few weeks, far outpacing Treasuries.

The bigger picture is that the dollar is weakening and losing global trust, driving money into scarce assets like Bitcoin, gold, silver, real estate, and platinum. Scarcity drives value, while fiat currency can be printed endlessly—something to keep in mind as the world debates monetary policy and inflation.

Individual Stocks & Key Takeaways

  • Bitcoin hit an all-time high of 112,000 before pulling back to 105,000. Despite volatility, it’s up 12% in a month, reflecting strong demand for scarce assets.

  • Apple is in a downtrend below its 50-day moving average and facing geopolitical tensions, but it’s still Apple—likely to stick around despite the headwinds.

  • AppLovin was last year’s star and is getting attention again for its income potential, though the chart has weakened a bit.

  • Palantir is breaking out, with a lot of excitement and strong covered call income potential.

  • Tesla has formed a bottoming pattern above the 200-day moving average and looks promising ahead of its upcoming robo-taxi event.

  • Nvidia is showing strength after a recent bottoming move, potentially heading back toward its highs.

  • MicroStrategy is forming a cup-and-handle pattern, with hopes that a Bitcoin bounce will push it higher.

  • Bitcoin Trust is mirroring Bitcoin’s strength and setting new highs.

  • Google (Alphabet) had an impressive AI conference, but the chart is struggling to reclaim its 200-day moving average. The ad model may face challenges as more people get direct AI answers instead of visiting traditional search links.

Conclusion

To wrap it up, the market is stuck in a yellow phase—no big breakouts, but also no clear breakdowns. Scarce assets and select tech names are showing pockets of opportunity, while traditional safe havens like Treasuries are under pressure. I’m focusing on covered calls to generate income and keeping an eye on the longer-term shift from fiat to scarcity-driven assets like Bitcoin, gold, and select tech plays. Stay vigilant and adaptable—this yellow phase is a chance to plan, not panic.

Current Market Condition:

The current market is characterized as "yellow," signifying a lack of clear direction and a state of indecision. The NASDAQ has moved above the 200-day moving average but is stalling, while the S&P 500 is consolidating after bouncing off this level. In contrast, the Dow Jones Industrial Average remains below the 200-day moving average and is weighed down by a death cross, indicating relative weakness. The New York Stock Exchange stands out as the strongest index, holding well above its 200-day moving average. The VIX volatility index has returned to its 200-day moving average, suggesting orderly conditions, but overall, the market lacks strong momentum in either direction, warranting caution and patience.
